What is Camp Good News?

Geared for children between the ages of 7-13, Camp Good News (CGN) has been creating unforgettable summer memories for kids on the Central Coast since 1953.

In our overnight camp setting, campers room with up to eight peers of similar age, under the care and guidance of trained counselors recommended by local church leaders.

Each day is packed with opportunities to build friendships, connect with caring mentors, and learn about the God who created them. Campers participate in Missions and Bible classes with engaging lessons and enjoy a variety of recreational activities sure to spark joy and adventure.

For families seeking a shorter commitment, our day camp offers many of the same exciting opportunities as our overnight camp—just without the overnight portion.

Financial Aid & Available Discounts

Financial Aid: This program makes donated funds available to help cover the cost of camp for children who could not otherwise attend. Because funds are limited, we feel it necessary to allocate donated funds to those who have the greatest need for assistance. To help us determine this, a separate application requesting Financial Aid is required to accompany the campers registration. This application will be made available when registrations go live.

Workership Discount: Accepted volunteers, who are 18 years of age or older, can request a workership discount for the child of their choice. However, please note that there is a limited number of workership discounts each year. Workerships are NOT available for the Day Camp session.

Multi-Family Discount: Families with multiple children attending camp will receive a multi-family discount for each additional child after the first.

PLEASE NOTE: Only one type of discount will be awarded to a qualifying individual/family. It is our desire that no child miss out on camp due to financial limitations.

Payments

A $150 deposit per child is due within one week of notification that your child has been accepted into camp. This deposit is required to secure their spot, unless you have applied for and been approved for financial aid.

Please note that camp spots fill quickly. Registrations are processed in the order they are received, based on the system-generated timestamp at the time of submission.
